"This appealing novel tells a story within the history of the Welsh colonization of Patagonia Argentina.
During the second half of the XIX century, a group of brave people left their homeland in Wales to look for a new world where to speak their own language and practice their Faith without impediment.
The story -and the life- of Randall Thomas initiates on board of the clipper "Mimosa", during the very first trip to Patagonia. The arrival to the coast of Chubut -now Porth Madryn- is the beginning of a number of hazardous adventures. The newcomers were more courageous than resourceful, but they survived by the rare virtue of getting along with natives.
The author, a direct descendant of one of the Welsh colonists, depicts with creative talent the difficult circumstances of life in the desert scrub, and the slow emergence of the new colony. Fictional and real characters mingled in this attractive book in perfect assemblage. Although this novel is not strictly historical, all details concerning past events are accurate.
This book, originally written in Spanish, is recommended to those who love historical chronicles, love stories or adventure novels."
